📘 This article provides an introduction to the AI Visibility dashboard, part of Botify's Analytics Suite, available as an option with all Botify plans.
Overview
The AI Visibility dashboard measures how often your brand and content appear in AI-generated search results. Understanding how your content is accessed, interpreted, and surfaced by AI systems is critical to improving your presence in AI-generated answers, which increasingly influence how users discover information. Measuring your visibility in the new AI search landscape enables you to benchmark your performance against competitors. Using prompts generated from first-party data, the AI Visibility dashboard enables you to drive organic performance across AI search and to inform enhancements to your search strategy and other content decisions, supporting the evolving AI landscape. Use the AI Visibility dashboard to report your competitive position in AI visibility to leadership with ease.

How AI Visibility differs from rank tracking
You are probably familiar with monitoring your site's position in SERPs for specific keywords, but AI visibility differs in that it measures your brand’s visibility relative to your competitors, rather than specific rankings. AI visibility provides a broader view of market dominance and potential traffic, enabling you to measure your brand's impact and visibility within your industry. Understanding your AI visibility is especially important, since users no longer have to click to get answers to their brand or content queries.
Tracking AI visibility is challenging since LLMs do not provide direct access to user queries or performance data. Additionally, results are variable based on user intent, prior context, and time. The AI Visibility dashboard helps you navigate these challenges by grounding prompt generation in reliable, first‑party data and comprehensive site analysis, which is necessary for meaningful insights.

Prerequisites
The project owner must accept the Botify GenAI Terms of Use before accessing the AI Visibility dashboard.
You must have your recent GSC data (last 28 days) integrated with your Botify project to access the Top GSC Keywords campaigns in the AI Visibility dashboard.
The AI Discovery report requires your web server traffic data to be integrated with your Botify project.
How it works
This dashboard incorporates new metrics to measure AI visibility, including brand metrics and citation frequency, as traditional SEO metrics do not apply to AI-generated answers. The initial release includes search data from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode. We currently use vetted third-party web scraping for ChatGPT and Google AI Mode. This approach yields more accurate results than API-only solutions because it captures the full context, including system prompts and user memory, which influence responses. For Perplexity, we currently use only API access.
The process
We use the following process to populate the AI Analytics dashboard:
Generating Prompts
We use a data-driven approach to create a comprehensive set of prompts that reflect actual user behavior. There are two methods for prompt generation:
Botify-generated prompts
We generate prompts in a default Top GSC Keywords campaign using your Google Search Console top-performing keywords. Using related “People Also Ask” questions from Google Search, we convert queries into conversational questions to show how visible your brand is in AI responses for the topics in which you already perform well in Google search.
Self-generated prompts
There are two methods for generating your own prompts:
Through category campaigns, using your website categories. We will generate relevant prompts using an LLM.
By importing a CSV file with your own prompts.
Evaluating queries
We run the generated prompts through ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode weekly. You can additionally select the countries where you want to run the prompts.
Analyzing results
We record the full list of competitors or brands, domain links or citations, and sentiment. We calculate your Share of Voice from brand mentions.
Segmenting prompts by intent (informational, commercial, transactional).
Separating branded and non-branded queries.
Delivering reports
We integrate the insights directly into the AI Analytics dashboard weekly on the day the campaign was first run.
