About the AI Visibility Overview Report

Updated this week

📘 This article provides details on the AI Visibility Overview section of the AI Visibility dashboard, part of Botify's Analytics Suite, available as an option with all Botify plans.

Overview

The AI Visibility Overview Report provides an overview of your brand’s visibility in AI search. This provides directional insight into how AI platforms represent your brand. Because generative AI answers can change over time, and platforms do not provide query volume, results should be interpreted as visibility signals, not exhaustive market-share reporting.

The following metrics are included in the Overview report:

KPIs

  • Visibility: The percentage of AI responses that mention your brand during the selected period.

  • Share of Voice: The percentage of AI responses that mention your brand or content during the selected period in comparison to the competitors you have named in the Competitors section.

  • Avg. Citation Rank: Your ranking based on the number of responses to queries that link to your domain vs. the number of responses to queries that include a link to your domain or other domains.

  • Domain Links: The average number of links to your domain in AI responses.

Visibility score

The Visibility Score shows how you are performing in AI search, based on where your brand is mentioned. The score is the percentage of AI responses that mention your brand during the selected period.

Visibility by platform

This metric aggregates your visibility for the selected period to show how often your brand is mentioned in AI-generated answers, helping you see whether you have more visibility on one platform than another.

Visibility score mentions

This chart shows how your brand ranks in AI answers compared to your chosen competitors, based on the percentage of answers that mentioned your brand vs. your competitors' brands.

Intent visibility

This chart shows the number of answers mentioning your brand segmented by user intent.

User intent is derived from prompts (not answers) and determined by an LLM. The following user intents are included:

  • Transactional: A user's desire to complete a specific action, such as making a purchase, event enrollment, scheduling a service, or subscribing to a newsletter.

  • Commercial: When a user is in the consideration phase of the buyer’s journey, indicated by searches for comparisons or reviews.

  • Informational: When a user is searching for information or knowledge, often to answer a specific question or learn about a topic. These users may be in the earliest stage of the buyer’s journey.

What’s the difference between prompts and answers?

👉 A prompt is a single query to an LLM.

👉 An answer is the combination of prompt + platform + country.

Sentiment analysis

These metrics represent sentiment based on sentiment analysis of AI responses when your brand is mentioned: positive, neutral, and negative. The sentiment score is calculated by an LLM and is aggregated across all AI platforms to provide the most representative analysis.
