📘 This article explains copying PageWorkers optimizations within and across projects. PageWorkers is part of Botify's Activation Suite, available as an option with all Botify plans.
Overview
The PageWorkers “clone” feature facilitates optimization reuse within and across Botify projects. PageWorkers cloning saves time for optimizations that are challenging to create and are needed across multiple projects and organizations. The title, description, scope, split-test settings, device targeting, agent targeting, variables, and templates are included in the cloned optimization. For “specific URLs” optimizations, the file/URLs are not cloned.
👉 This feature is currently available for Page Editor optimizations only.
Cloning Optimizations
Before cloning an optimization within a project, consider whether broadening the optimization’s scope will be more effective.
To clone an optimization:
From the PageWorkers Overview, expand the 3-dot menu, then select Clone.
Optionally change the default name.
Choose to clone the optimization within the current Botify project or another project. For another project, identify the project slug where the optimization will be cloned. The cloned optimization is created in "draft" status.
Navigate to the Overview page to locate the optimization, where you can activate it.
Locating the Project Slug
The project slug is the part of the URL that comes after app.botify.com
and before /activation
:
💡 Since templates and variables are included with cloned optimizations, ensure you adapt the template content and variables' CSS selectors to the new project.
