Configuring and Applying Page Editor Optimizations

Updated over a year ago

πŸ“˜ This article explains how to configure Page Editor optimizations in PageWorkers, part of Botify's Activation Suite, available as an option with all Botify plans.

Overview

The configuration step in the PageWorkers wizard interface differs based on the type of optimization you are creating. This article explains how to configure Page Editor optimizations, which include the following elements:

  • Title: Change the value of the page Title tag.

  • H1: Change the value of an existing H1 heading or add a new H1 heading.

  • Description: Change the page description in the Meta tag name attribute.

  • Custom HTML: Add some custom HTML to a page.

Configuring Page Editor Optimizations

  1. Follow the instructions to create a PageWorkers optimization.

  2. On the Configure step, optionally identify a page URL where you can test your CSS selector or template.

  4. Choose how you will provide the new value:

    • With a Template: You will create a template to define the new value using variables.

  5. If you are configuring a new H1 to be added to a page or adding custom HTML, define the CSS Selector and choose a strategy, as outlined in the Using CSS Selectors in PageWorkers article. If you are optimizing an existing H1, you do not need to define a CSS Selector.

  6. Click the Next button after defining all elements for this optimization.

Applying Page Editor Optimizations

If you chose to provide new values manually by URL in the Define step, you provide new values in the Apply step. If you chose to provide new values by scope, this wizard step is not displayed; proceed to the Deploying Optimizations section.

Applying Optimizations by Specific URL

To identify new values for each URL individually:

  1. Click the Specific URLs option.

  2. Identify the full URL of the page containing the element to optimize.

  3. Identify the new value for the page element.

  4. Optionally, click the Add a URL link to identify an additional URL and value.

  5. Click the Next button after identifying all URLs and values.
