📘 This article explains how to deploy SmartContent optimizations. SmartContent is part of Botify's Activation Suite, available with all Botify plans.
After creating a SmartContent optimization, you can deploy it through a PageWorkers optimization or with your preferred method. Deploying the optimization through PageWorkers provides access to performance metrics and enables you to evaluate results through split testing.
Deploying with PageWorkers
To deploy a SmartContent optimization with PageWorkers, you modify the SmartContent output file and then create a PageEditor optimization that uses the modified file.
The exported file’s columns are: url/oldTitle/newTitle/oldDescription/newDescription.
Depending on what you are optimizing, make the following changes to the CSV file, then save it in CSV format:Delete the oldTitle and oldDescription columns.
Rename the newTitle column to “title”; alternatively, delete this column if you did not optimize titles.
Rename the newDescription column to “description”; alternatively, delete this column if you did not optimize descriptions.
Reorder the title and description columns so the order of all columns is: url/description/title.
In PageWorkers, create a PageEditor optimization using the Specific URLs/CSV option.
Select the Split Test option to test how the SmartContent titles or descriptions perform.
In Step 2, select “Title” or “Description” as the element to configure, depending on what you are optimizing, and choose the Per URL option.
In Step 3, select the CSV file option, then click the Upload .CSV file button to upload the modified CSV file.
Click Next, then Save as draft in Step 4. The Overview page displays the draft optimization with the “Build in Progress” status.
When all data is ready, click Deploy to Production to start the split test.
Refer to About PageWorkers Split Testing for guidance on managing and interpreting split tests.
Deploying on Your Own
Use the exported CSV file to upload the recommendations with your CMS or preferred method.
