🛠 This article provides the information you need to understand how Botify manages the latest Adobe Analytics data integration and the detail we need you to provide us to implement it on your web property.

Overview

The Adobe Analytics integration with Botify imports your website visit and conversion data from search engines. Mapping this data to SEO indicators from Botify’s crawl helps identify areas that can be improved.

Required Information

This section provides the information you need from your Adobe Analytics account. You must have an Admin or Developer role and permissions in your organization's Adobe Admin Console to gain access to the following information that is required to set up the integration:

Client ID and Secret

To create an OAuth Server-to-Server credential, follow Adobe’s documentation to set up the OAuth Server-to-Server credential in the Adobe Developer Console.

To access your Client ID and Secret:

  1. Open your project at https://console.adobe.io/projects.

  2. Click the OAuth Server-to-Server project tile.

  3. Scroll to the credential details, then click the Copy icon to copy the Client ID to your system clipboard.

  4. Click Retrieve client secret to display the client secret.

  5. Click the Copy icon next to the client secret to copy it to your system clipboard.

  6. Share the Client ID and secret with the person responsible for the Adobe Analytics integration with Botify.

⚠️ Whenever you create a new client secret to replace an existing one, you must share it with the person responsible for the Adobe Analytics integration with Botify to ensure data continuity.

Report Suite and Global Company IDs

  1. In your Adobe Analytics account, navigate to Admin > All admin.

  2. Click the Report suite access link in the "User management" section.

  3. Locate your site's Report Suite ID in the table.

  4. Navigate to Admin > All admin and click the Company settings home link in the "Company settings" section.

  5. Locate the Global Company ID at the end of the first paragraph on the API Access tab.

Adobe Dimensions and Fields

To identify which Adobe fields to import into Botify, locate the following visit and conversion Adobe field and dimension names and IDs. Provide these to the person setting up the integration in Botify.

Visits

Botify maps your URLs using Adobe’s default "Entry Page Original" dimension. If your URLs are stored in a custom dimension instead of the default, add permission for Botify to the custom dimension.

💡Adobe Analytics implements custom dimensions in eVar and prop custom variables. Since prop variables have a 100-character limit, we strongly suggest using eVar variables for your custom dimensions to accommodate long URLs.

Conversions

  • URL/Entry Page

  • Orders

  • Revenue

  • Segment Filter ID (optional)
