Examining Render Quality in SpeedWorkers

Updated over a year ago

πŸ“˜ This article describes the SpeedWorkers Render Quality page, which provides insights into the SpeedWorkers quality controls. SpeedWorkers is part of Botify's Activation Suite, available as an option with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.

Overview

The SpeedWorkers Render Quality page demonstrates the quality of SpeedWorkers delivery to bots based on the quality controls you define in SpeedWorkers settings.

To access the Render Quality page, navigate to Activation > SpeedWorkers > Render Quality:

Reviewing Render Quality

The Render Quality page is organized into the following cards:

Click on any visualization to view more detail in the SpeedWorkers URL Explorer.

❗️ SpeedWorkers executes quality controls when the page is added to the cache, but render quality charts are based on what was delivered to bots. This means that if a quality control fails when the page is cached, a failure is added to the render quality charts every time the page is delivered. This is intentional since it is more important to see the number of failures at the time of delivery.

Summary

The Summary card provides a snapshot of the SpeedWorkers delivery quality based on the defined quality controls:

  • Total Quality Controls: The total number of URLs in the defined scope to which all quality controls apply during the selected time period.

  • Failed & Delivered: The total number of URLs in the defined scope for which quality controls failed, but the pages were still delivered to bots during the selected time period.

  • Failed & Not Delivered: The total number of URLs in the defined scope for which quality controls failed, and the pages were not delivered to bots during the selected time period.

  • Render Quality: The SpeedWorkers render quality rating, calculated by dividing the total number of URLs affected by quality controls by the total number of failed quality controls (both delivered and not delivered).

Quality Control Fails

The Quality Control Fails card shows the total number of URLs with quality control failures for the selected time period, as defined in the SpeedWorkers Quality Controls settings. Failures are grouped by pages delivered and pages not delivered.

All Quality Controls

The All Quality Controls card provides a compiled view of all quality control success, including:

  • Total Executions: The total number of times the quality control was performed against all URLs in the scope.

  • Total Fails: The total number of times the quality control failed across all URLs in the scope, whether the pages were delivered to bots or not.

  • Total Fails Without Delivery: The total number of times the quality control failed across all URLs in the scope when the pages were still delivered to bots.

  • Fail Ratio: The SpeedWorkers render quality rating, calculated by dividing the total number of times the quality controls were executed by the total number of failed quality controls (both delivered and not delivered).
