Optimizing SpeedWorkers Page Inventory

Updated over a year ago

πŸ“˜ This article describes managing the settings that optimize the SpeedWorkers page inventory. SpeedWorkers is part of Botify's Activation Suite, available as an option with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.

Overview

Page Inventory lists URLs from which SpeedWorkers can cache and deliver fully-rendered pages to search bots. You can refine the scope of your inventory by filtering out non-relevant URLs according to strategies and rules you define in SpeedWorkers settings. Optimizing your inventory helps SpeedWorkers focus on the pages that are most important to you.

Access the SpeedWorkers page inventory settings by navigating to Activation > Speedworkers > Settings > Inventory. Scroll down to the Inventory Optimization section.

Refer to the following articles for detailed information on each of the optimization strategy types:

  1. In the Inventory Optimization section of the Inventory settings, hover over the block containing the rule to delete, and then click the trash can icon.

  2. In the confirmation message that displays, click the Delete button.

A Blocked URLs rule for assets is typically set up on your behalf; we recommend you not delete this rule.

Reordering Inventory Optimization Rules

The order in which Inventory Optimization rules appear in the list of rules is important. If a URL matches more than one rule, the first matching rule in the list will be applied, and any subsequent matching rules will not be executed. For this reason, you may need to change the order in which the rules are displayed.

To reorder rules:

  1. In the Inventory Optimization section of the Inventory settings, click the up arrow in the rule block to move the rule one step higher in the list or click the down arrow to move the rule one step lower.

  2. Repeat until the rule is at the desired location in the list.
