Defining SpeedWorkers Settings

Updated over a year ago

πŸ“˜ This article explains how to configure the settings for SpeedWorkers to enable or disable SpeedWorkers and set up your inventory, cache behavior, and quality controls. SpeedWorkers is part of Botify's Activation Suite, available as an option with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.

Overview

The SpeedWorkers settings are organized into the following tabs:

  • Inventory: Set the rules to define which pages are included in the SpeedWorkers page inventory.

  • Cache Behaviors: Define the caching rates and rules for different types of content in the page inventory.

  • Quality Controls: Build your quality checks with custom targets, thresholds, and fallbacks.

  • Control Center: Enable or disable the SpeedWorkers service and test the current service status.

Please refer to the individual articles to learn about each type of setting.

About Versioning

SpeedWorkers maintains different versions of settings to enable you to use one in production while preserving your previous configurations for future use. Changes you make to settings do not affect your SpeedWorkers configuration until you push them to production.

Versions can be in one of the following statuses:

  • Draft: Draft settings do not affect your SpeedWorkers service until you push the draft version to production. There can only be one Draft version at any given time. You can create a new Draft version anytime, which overwrites the previous draft.

  • In Production: These are the settings that SpeedWorkers is currently using on your site. There can only be one "In Production" version at any time. The "In Production" version is in read-only mode by default. Editing settings from the current "In Production" version automatically creates a new Draft version, which replaces the previous Draft version, if one existed.

  • Archived: These are all of the previously deployed versions for the project. You can revert to any archived version or create a new draft from an archived version.

Version Tracking

When users change settings, their name and the change date/time are displayed in the Status column in each settings section. The status identifies changes made to the version settings you are currently viewing. When draft changes are pushed to production, the Status column in the new draft is reset to "Not modified" until additional changes are made.
