Managing Alerts in AlertPanel

Updated over a year ago

📘 This article explains how to view, mute, and delete AlertPanel alerts. AlertPanel is part of Botify's Intelligence Suite, available with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.

Overview

Alerts in AlertPanel are organized into groups that allow you to designate different recipients for each type of alert. The default Alert Groups categorize alerts by their source:

  • Custom Alerts: Alerts you create based on data in Botify’s SiteCrawler analysis.

  • AlertPanel Daily Crawl: Alerts based on the strategic pages you define in AlertPanel settings.

  • Robots.txt: Alerts based on analysis of your site’s Robots.txt.

  • Log Analyzer: Alerts based on your site’s log files.

Access alerts and Alert Groups by navigating to Intelligence > AlertPanel > Manage Alerts & Groups through the main navigation bar:

The Manage Alerts & Groups page displays a card for each existing Alert Group. From this page, you can:

  • Alert Name: The name that identifies the alert.

  • Alert Status: Indicator of alert being active or inactive.

  • Actions: Options to mute and delete (custom alerts only) the alert.

Additionally, custom alerts include the following:

  • Filters: The metrics that are applied to URL Explorer to filter the data for the alert.

  • Changes in behavior: Indicator of a rise or drop in the number of pages affected by the issue since the previous crawl.

  • Scope: Group of pages to which the alert applies.

Muting and Deleting Alerts

Project Admins can temporarily mute (i.e., deactivate) any alert and delete custom alerts from the Manage Alerts & Groups page; you cannot delete default alerts.
