📘 This article provides an overview of how AlertPanel works and the issues it can detect. AlertPanel is part of Botify's Intelligence Suite and is available with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.
Overview
AlertPanel helps SEO teams and organizations proactively identify and resolve critical issues impacting their websites. AlertPanel has a default set of alerts and trigger rules based on your website, search engines, third-party analytics providers, and user activity. This data is monitored regularly to alert you when there are sudden, notable changes to your site, based on analysis of your log files, strategic pages crawled, and Robots.txt files.
The complete list of alerts available within AlertPanel is available here. You can also create custom alerts specific to your site needs with any metric available in SiteCrawler.
How Alerts Are Triggered
Alerts are triggered based on statistically significant differences between the expected number of impacted URLs for an alert vs. the number of impacted URLs in the crawl. An alert is triggered when the number of impacted URLs deviates too far from the expectation.
👉 Alerts are not triggered for every subsequent URL identified with the same issue.
Botify calculates an expected range based on a moving average of impacted URLs (the pages that meet the alert parameters) over the total number of URLs tested (the total number of pages in the crawl). Botify monitors this ratio of impacted URLs/Total URLs based on the previous five crawls of a project (or 14 previous days for log data). If there are days without log data, we will go back in time to find 14 days with data.

Alert recipients are defined in Alert Groups. If the user is a member of the Alert Group through an Organization's team, remove the user from the team to disable alerts for the user. However, this will disable alert notifications for all alerts contained in the Alert Group; you cannot disable for an individual alert (unless the Alert Group only contains one alert). If the user is a member of the Alert Group solely based on the preference set in AlertPanel settings, you cannot disable individual alerts.
