Understanding Warnings in the Analytics Overview

Updated over a year ago

📘 This article explains the warning messages for incomplete or missing data that may be displayed on the Analytics Overview page.

Overview

Analytics Overview will flag warnings when there is incomplete or missing data in the funnel. These warnings include:

Limit in Number of Crawled URLs

A Known Pages warning label appears when the Analytics Overview crawl does not include all of a site’s pages. Botify reviews the number of pages crawled by Botify compared to the total number of pages for the domain (based on internal linking).

It is common for enterprise-level sites to face this issue if crawl limits are set in a project’s crawl settings. If so, review the URLs in the selected crawl to assess whether they accurately reflects your complete domain or consider adjusting your crawl limit settings.

Missing Log Files

A Crawl warning label appears when a crawl is missing log file data. Typically, this is due to Botify's inability to retrieve the log file data for a short period. Contact Botify Support if this issue persists.

Missing Visitor Data

Without connecting your Analytics tool, Botify cannot populate Visits in the Convert stage of the Analytics Overview. If you integrated visits data without conversion data, the second half of the Convert stage will be greyed out. We strongly recommend integrating your visit and conversion data to get the most out of the Analytics Overview; this option is available in every Botify plan.
