Botify MCP Use Case: Building a Weekly Search Report

📘 This use case demonstrates asking for crawl status, Search Console, and GA4 numbers in one request instead of rebuilding the same weekly report from three exports.

Best for: Search and SEO teams · Uses: crawl status, Search Console, and GA4, via Claude or ChatGPT

Overview

Search teams often rebuild the same report every week, pulling crawl health, Search Console performance, and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) traffic from three places and stitching them together by hand. Botify MCP lets you ask for that report in plain language instead, in the AI assistant you already use.

Prerequisites

  • Botify MCP connected to your AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT. See Connecting to the Botify MCP for setup steps.

  • Access to the Botify project you want to report on.

Description of the problem

Crawl health, Search Console performance, and GA4 traffic each live in a different place. Assembling one weekly report means exporting from all three and combining them by hand, every time.

Application

  1. Open the AI assistant where Botify MCP is connected.

  2. Ask for the numbers in plain language:

Pull crawl status, Search Console clicks and impressions, and GA4 sessions for [project] for the last 7 days.

    Why this prompt works:

    • Naming each source (crawl status, Search Console, GA4) in one request is what replaces three separate exports with a single answer.

    • A fixed window (7 days) keeps the report comparable week to week, so a change in the numbers reflects the site, not a shifting date range.

  3. Review the combined answer, built directly from your first-party crawl, log, and Search Console data rather than a third-party estimate.

Follow-up prompts

  • "Compare this week's numbers to last week's and flag anything that moved by more than [threshold]." — turns a snapshot into a week-over-week check.

  • "Break GA4 sessions down by landing page for [project]." — useful when the summary number moves and you need to know where.

Make it repeatable

  • Reuse the same prompt wording each week, or ask your assistant to schedule it, so the report runs on its own instead of being rebuilt from memory each time.

  • Keep the source list (crawl status, Search Console, GA4) and window (7 days) identical every week, so this week's numbers are actually comparable to last week's. See About Report Periods and Data Sources for how Botify buckets each source.

Result

The report you used to rebuild by hand from three exports now runs on request, or on a schedule, from data that is already yours.
