About the AI Discovery Report

Updated this week

πŸ“˜ This article explains the AI Discovery section of the AI Visibility dashboard, part of Botify's Analytics Suite, available as an option with all Botify plans.

Overview

The AI Discovery report displays the live search AI bot behavior on pages with GSC impressions, which reveals page performance comparisons between LLMs and Google Search Console. Live crawls are bots collecting information from a website in response to a user's request.

πŸ‘€ The AI Discovery report includes the last 28 days of data compared to the previous period; you cannot select other time periods, as in the primary AI Visibility reports.

The AI Discovery report contains two sections:

AI Discovery Overview

Select an LLM at the top of the report:

The AI Discovery Overview section includes the following metrics (using ChatGPT as the selected LLM):

  • URLs with GSC impressions: The number of URLs with Google impressions during the selected period.

  • URLs live crawled by ChatGPT: The number of URLs retrieved by LLMs during the selected period, including URLs that did not receive Google impressions. We record ChatGPT-User bot activity because it represents real-time retrieval requests made on behalf of actual users, unlike other ChatGPT bots used for model training and indexing.

  • URLs with GSC impressions retrieved: The percentage of URLs with GSC impressions that were retrieved by LLMs during the selected period.

  • No. of visits (logs): The number of URLs that received user visits from clicks through LLM answers during the selected period, as reported in your integrated log data.

  • Retrieved URLs with GSC impressions: The proportion of pages with impressions in Google Search Console that also appeared in ChatGPT responses.

  • Top pages by Google impressions not being crawled by ChatGPT-User: Your most strategic pages that received Google impressions, but were not retrieved by ChatGPT, during the selected period. You should prioritize optimizing these pages, which perform well in traditional search, so they are surfaced in LLM answers.

  • Retrieval rate of pages with >500 impressions: These are your high-traffic pages that ChatGPT is more likely to display to users in live-crawl responses.

  • Retrieved pages by breadcrumb level: These are the pages, by category, that ChatGPT can access. Categories are based on your website's breadcrumbs.
