📘 This article explains how to preview pages that will be served to bots from the SpeedWorkers cache. SpeedWorkers is part of Botify's Activation Suite, available as an option with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.
Overview
The SpeedWorkers Preview feature provides you with the view of your page in the SpeedWorkers inventory as bots will see it, alongside an overview of the SpeedWorkers delivery speed gain and settings.
Accessing a Preview Page
Preview pages can be displayed for any page within the scope you have defined in your SpeedWorkers settings. There are two ways to access a preview page:
Through the Preview URL link at the top of any SpeedWorkers page
Through the list of URLs in the SpeedWorkers URL Explorer
To access a preview page through the Preview URL link:
Expand the Preview URL link at the top, right-hand corner of the page.
Type the full URL of the page to preview, including the protocol (e.g., https://www.botify.com), and then click the Preview link.
To access a preview from the SpeedWorkers URL Explorer:
Click the URL Explorer link in the left-hand navigation bar.
Click the preview icon next to the page URL you want to preview.
Understanding Preview Pages
A preview page in SpeedWorkers provides a view of how the page appears to bots, a summary of the delivery speed gain with SpeedWorkers, and links to settings. Refer to the following screenshot for more information on each page element:
Summary of Speed Improvement: The performance gain of the page delivery with SpeedWorkers is summarized as a percentage (e.g., 61 times faster than without SpeedWorkers), and the amount of time to deliver the page both with and without SpeedWorkers is displayed in milliseconds. Refer to the SpeedWorkers Delivery Center for detailed information on page delivery.
URL Details: This section provides the HTTP status code returned when accessing the page, when the page was last refreshed in the SpeedWorkers cache, and when the page is next scheduled to be refreshed, based on your cache behavior settings. Click the View full HTML link in this section to view the page's HTML source.
Behavior: This section summarizes your SpeedWorkers cache behavior settings when the page was cached, determining the pages to be added to the inventory and the rate and priority at which the pages are refreshed. Click the View Settings link to access the SpeedWorkers cache behavior settings directly. Refer to the SpeedWorkers Inventory Monitoring page for detailed information on page inventory.
Quality Control: The names of quality controls defined in your SpeedWorkers settings are displayed in this section. Click the See details link to display the scope, condition, and action set to occur for each quality control. Refer to the SpeedWorkers Render Quality page for detailed information on page render quality based on your defined controls.
Inventory: This section identifies the source from which the page was added to the SpeedWorkers inventory according to your Inventory settings.
Page Link: This link opens a new window with the live page on your site.
Versions: The Mobile and Desktop links provide the versions of the page as they are displayed to bots.
