Receiving Slack Alerts from AlertPanel

📘 This article explains how to connect your Slack account to receive Botify alerts within Slack. AlertPanel is part of Botify's Intelligence Suite, available with a Botify Pro or Enterprise plan.

Overview

Connecting your Slack account to AlertPanel involves the following steps:

  1. Creating a new channel in Slack

  2. Adding Slack to AlertPanel settings

Creating a New Channel in Slack

Botify can be connected to your Slack account to allow Botify alerts to be shared in your Slack channels. We recommend you create a new Slack channel dedicated to Botify alerts.

To create a new Slack channel:

  1. Log into your organization's Slack account.

  2. Create a channel as described in the Slack help center.

Adding Slack to AlertPanel Settings

After creating your Slack channel, complete the following steps to connect your Slack account to AlertPanel:

  1. Navigate to Intelligence > AlertPanel > Settings.

  2. In the Contact Preferences section, click the Add Slack button.

  3. Identify your organization's Slack workspace in the Slack pop-up window, then click Continue.

  4. Select the name of the channel you created for Botify alerts, and then click Allow.

👉 You may need to contact your Slack administrator to request authorization for the integration. Please refer to the Slack documentation for more information.

When the connection is complete, the connection is added to the Slack integration section of Contact Preferences.

Adding the Slack Channel to the Alert Group

After enabling the Slack integration, you must select the name of the Slack channel within the Alert Group settings to receive alerts.

To add the Slack channel:

  1. Navigate to Manage Alerts & Groups and click the Edit icon in the alert group card.

  2. In the "Send alerts by instant messaging" section, select the checkbox next to the name of the Slack channel to receive alerts.

  3. Click Save.

Deleting a Slack Connection

To delete an existing Slack connection:

  1. Navigate to Intelligence > AlertPanel > Settings.

  2. Click the trash can icon next to the connection name in the Slack integration section.

    The connection is removed from the list.
