Understanding the Potential of Keywords
Add the following columns to your Keywords Explorer to find the potential of the keywords you are ranking for and those of your competitors:

Keyword: All keywords retrieved from Semrush
Semrush Search Intent: The user's goal with the keyword query
Semrush Search Volume: Total Search volume for the keywords
Semrush Sum of Traffic: The Sum of traffic generated by the keywords for all considered domains
Semrush Sum of Traffic: The Sum of traffic generated by the keywords for a specific competitor
From the "Search Console" section:
Average Position: The average keyword ranking for your site
Impressions: The number of instances a user saw your URL in search results
The results let you easily estimate your competitors' share of voice versus your own share of voice:
Discovering your Competitors' Keywords
Increase your overall organic traffic by discovering the keywords your competitors are ranking for and using this to recommend new keywords to your content team.
Add the following columns to your Keywords Explorer to discover your competitors' keywords:

Semrush Average Position: The average position for all competitors and your organization on the first page for the keyword. Add this column once for each competitor you want to track.

From the "Search Console" section:Impressions: The number of instances a user saw your URL in search results
Add the following filter: Impressions = 0.
βRemove the following filter if it is applied: Branded=No.
In the results, a keyword where one of your competitors ranks second on average and for which you have no impression offers an opportunity to rank for new keywords. Share this data with your marketing or content team to help you rank on new keywords.

Apply the following filter to find where your site does not appear in the top ten results: Average Position > 10.
βSort the results from most expensive to least expensive Semrush Average Click CPC.
In the following example results, this keyword has good Search Volume potential and your average position is not in the top 10. This is an opportunity to gain more traffic by optimizing your site to rank higher on that keyword. Since the CPC is pretty low, your SEA team could invest in that keyword until you rank for that keyword in the SERPs.
