Exporting Botify Data

Updated over 4 months ago

📘 This article explains the options available for exporting data from Botify. Exports of varying limits are available with all Botify plans.

Overview

Botify provides several ways to export your SEO data. Cross-reference your exported Botify data with other data sources to inform strategic decisions and share key insights across your organization through your existing BI tools. Your Botify plan and the size of your website limit the volume of data you can export. Please contact your SEO Success Manager (SSM) with questions about your export credits.

Automated Exports

Pro and Enterprise plan customers can have SiteCrawler data automatically exported after every crawl based on your preferred metrics to enable you to incorporate Botify data into your databases or tools. To enable automated exports, please contact your SSM.

Exporting Explorer Reports

You can export all Botify reports from URL Explorers and the RealKeywords Explorer to a CSV file. The data limit in these reports is one million rows per export and a maximum of ten columns.

To export Explorer reports:

  1. Navigate to the Explorer and set the desired metrics and dimensions.

  2. Click the Export to CSV link at the top of the table.

  3. Choose one of the following based on the type of Explorer:

    • In LogAnalyzer, click the Export as CSV link.

    • In all other Explorers, select the number of rows to export, up to one million unique URLs, or a reduced number of rows, and then click Launch Export.

  4. Navigate to Reports > DataExports anytime during the next 29 days to download the report. Reports from all Explorers except for SiteCrawler are automatically downloaded.

You cannot export trend charts directly from RealKeywords; however, you can add them to custom reports and export them as PDFs.

Exporting with Multi-Value Fields

You must identify how to handle multiple values when you initiate a SiteCrawler report export that includes multi-value fields (e.g., a report with URL and H1 columns may include multiple H1 tags for each URL). The following options are provided:

  • Only keep the first value: The first value appearing in the report will be exported, and the remaining values will be excluded.

  • Keep all the values, in json format: All values in the report will be exported. The export file will be in CSV format, but the values will be identified in the appropriate column in JSON format.

  • Keep all the values, one value per line: All values in the report will be exported to a separate row for each value and its matching data.

Exporting XML Sitemaps

From the SiteCrawler URL Explorer, you can export reports of up to two million URLs into XML sitemaps. Contact your SSM to learn how Botify can automatically generate and host your sitemaps with SmartIndex.

To export a report into an XML sitemap:

  1. Navigate to SiteCrawler > URL Explorer and set the desired metrics and dimensions.

  2. Click the dropdown next to the "Export to CSV" link at the top of the table, then select Export XML Sitemaps.

  3. Optionally, identify attributes for the sitemap and then click Generate Sitemap.

  4. Click the Go to the DataExports button in the confirmation message to download the export. You can also navigate directly to Reports > DataExports anytime during the next 29 days to download the report.

Exporting Botify Visualizations

Many SiteCrawler charts and graphs allow you to export the data to CSV and PNG formats. If the option is available for a chart, it is available in the menu accessible from the cog icon at the top right:

These exports are downloaded as soon as they are generated and are unavailable in DataExports.

Exporting Botify Recommended Reports

Botify provides eleven canned reports of common SEO scenarios for quick export in CSV format. The data limit in these reports is one million URLs per export and a limit of ten exports per day.

To access the Botify Recommended Reports, navigate to Reports > DataExports and scroll to the “Botify Recommended Exports on analysis” section.

Full Data Exports

If the size of your data exceeds the export limitations identified above, use one of the following methods to export your full Botify data:

Exporting to a Preferred Location

Botify Professional or Enterprise plan customers can export their data to their preferred location (e.g., AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage) in various formats on demand or according to a schedule. To configure exports to your preferred location, please refer to these articles:
